Fans of Babylon Berlin are often confused about how many seasons have been released on Netflix. It is not their fault, Netflix did not do a very good job of making it clear how many seasons of Babylon Berlin there are. When Babylon Berlin first made its debut on Netflix in the United States, It was split up into two seasons each containing eight episodes. Netflix advertised two separate seasons of the show. Not long after the initial release, Netflix combined the two seasons into one season. That is what we see today. So what do we believe? How many seasons of Babylon Berlin are there?

So what is the verdict? First Netflix tells us that there are two seasons of Babylon Berlin but now they are showing the series as only one season. According to Wikipedia there are two seasons of Babylon Berlin. With more episodes on the way.

But why would Netflix combine two seasons into one?

Netflix likely combined the two seasons into one due to the nature of their release. Seasons one and two were released subsequently without much time between them. At first Netflix honored each season individually but later decided to combine the two seasons into one.

What Does This Mean for the Future of Babylon Berlin?

Babylon Berlin has already been renewed for another season. Although technically we are guaranteed two more seasons of Babylon Berlin Netflix will likely combine what would be seasons three and four into a single season which will be season two. It will be interesting to see how the series continues.

Seems confusing right…

For now we are just going to say that the next season up is Babylon Berlin season two. Most fans of Babylon Berlin know  that they are ready for new episodes of the series to be released on Netflix. Luckily Babylon Berlin season 2 is well on its way and should be available this fall!

What Role Will Charlotte Ritter Play in Babylon Berlin Season 2?

Fans of Babylon Berlin seem to be fascinated with Charlotte Ritter. Charlotte is one of the more interesting characters in the series and plays two major roles. By day, she is a typist who helps the police with miscellaneous tasks. As night falls she begins work as a prostitute in one of Berlin’s many clubs. As season 2 approaches, my friends and I have found ourselves arguing over whether or not Charlotte will play more of a role working with the police or continue to supplement her time with the police with her work at the club.

Charlotte Ritter in Babylon Berlin Season 1

In Babylon Berlin season 1 we saw Charlotte and Gereon’s relationship grow little by little. In the end of the series we see Gereon save Charlotte. My argument, to my friends, is that Gereon saving Charlotte’s life is a sign that in Season 2 we will see a much stronger relationship between Gereon and Charlotte. My friends believe otherwise. They think that Gereon may have developed more feelings for her but will distance himself from her to protect her.

Charlotte Ritter’s Role in Babylon Berlin Season 2 – A Prediction

There are two, actually, three different ways that Babylon Berlin could go with Charlotte Ritter’s character in season 2. In my opinion, They are going to give her a bigger role working with Gereon and the police. I believe that Gereon’s act of saving her will spark a deeper relationship between the two and they will work more closely; like a dynamic duo of sorts.

Other fans of Babylon Berlin, their names will not be mentioned to save them from embarrassment, believe that Gereon will try to distance himself in an effort to protect Charlotte from the dangers of his work. Charlotte may try to force her way to Gereon’s side, but Gereon will try his best to keep her a safe distance. This will force her to continue her part time work with the police and her night work as a “performer.”
